Cake Portions and Sizes

The number of portions cut from a cake depends on whether the cake cuts cleanly and the dexterity of the person cutting the cake.

The fruit cake portions on the chart below have been based on 2.5cm(1in) square slices. It may be possible to cut smaller so that the cake will go further but it is always better to overestimate the number of portions required.

Sponge cakes are served in larger portions, 5 x 2.5cm (2x1in), at least double the size of fruit cake slices.

Price Guide

Prices for our cakes is dependent on the complexity of design and the ingredients chosen. Each cake is price individually based on the customers specification.

The starting point for our price calculation is £100 per tier. As a guide, the average 2010 price for a three tier cake was £425 and the average price for a four tier cake was £560.
